When our daughter suggested the Blue Fox Cafe in Victoria after thoroughly researching the local dining scene, we knew we were in for a treat. With its appealing menu, delightful ambiance, and gluten-free options that catered perfectly to our family, this little gem quickly became a must-visit.
First Impressions
Arriving at Blue Fox Café about an hour before closing, our initial challenge was parking—limited to paid street spaces, but luckily we snagged a nearby spot. The cafe's welcoming policy of serving everyone already in line—even past closing—was incredibly thoughtful, as indicated by the prominently placed sign outside.
As we approached, the quaint, inviting exterior drew us in immediately. The cafe felt slightly hidden yet charming, tucked away on a bustling street, and upon entering, we noticed the cozy yet trendy atmosphere complemented by the clean and charming decor. It was bustling and crowded, adding to its popular local vibe, and we waited about 20 minutes to be seated.

Atmosphere & Ambience
The café was buzzing but not overwhelmingly noisy, creating a comfortable dining experience. Decorative highlights included the prominent logo displayed over a cozy fireplace and eye-catching paintings adorning the brick walls. Subtle background music further enhanced the pleasant environment without intruding on conversations.
Food & Menu Highlights
The diverse and enticing menu offered something delicious for everyone in our group:
Ohana! Banana Cream French Toast: Caramelized bananas, pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup made this dish a sweet standout. Our daughter loved every bite, though noted it leaned on the sweeter side.
Eggs Benny: Served on toasted Mount Royal bagels with perfectly poached eggs, fresh hollandaise, and crispy pan-fried potatoes. Our Eggs Benny enthusiast proclaimed it among the freshest and best she’s ever tasted.
Two Beef Tacos: My husband felt these were decent but not exceptional, reflecting he might choose differently next time.
Fresh Fruit Platter: Beautifully presented with artfully arranged bananas, apples, blueberries, grapes, and oranges. It was as tasty as it was visually delightful.
Island Eggs (Gluten-Free): Two farm-fresh eggs, seasoned potatoes, gluten-free toast, bacon, and homemade jam thoroughly satisfied our gluten-free diner.
Our beverages included specialty coffees—Crème au Caramel coffee and another topped with whipped cream and chocolate candy—as well as a refreshing Mango Peach Mimosa. Each drink was expertly made, timely, and perfectly temperature-controlled.
Service & Staff
From our arrival to departure, the staff was notably friendly, attentive, and helpful, especially when learning it was our first visit. We were genuinely impressed with the swift food delivery despite the bustling atmosphere.
Pricing & Value
Meals averaged about $22 per person, a reasonable price that matched the quality and portion sizes we received. We felt satisfied and considered it good value for the dining experience provided.
Facilities & Accessibility
The dining area, utensils, and restrooms were impeccably clean and well-stocked. Although the café didn't have an outdoor dining area, the lining-up process outside was manageable. Accessibility appeared accommodating for those with mobility needs, with the cafe layout likely suitable for wheelchairs.
Final Thoughts & Recommendations
We enthusiastically give Blue Fox Café a rating of 5 out of 5 Tin Hearts!

Our experience at the Blue Fox Cafe was memorable, delicious, and thoroughly enjoyable.
