Our family day trip to Canyon Lake was packed with sunshine, stunning mountain views, unexpected wipeouts, and plenty of laughter. From forgetting our day pass to getting soaked by a surf boat’s wake, this adventure was as memorable as it was hilarious!

During our Utah road trip, we stopped at the Prehistoric Museum in Price and found ourselves face-to-face with dinosaurs, Ice Age giants, and ancient human history. With life-sized fossils, hands-on exhibits, and fascinating local discoveries, this museum turned out to be one of our favorite surprises along the scenic route.

From snow-dusted Canyonlands to touring iconic Monument Valley, the final leg of our trip was packed with stunning views, mechanical mishaps, and the moment Shilo finally accepted Maise. Bonus? A peaceful stay in Clarkdale with mountain views and ancient ruins nearby.

We took a breather under shady trees in Green River, explored dinosaur bones in Price, and wandered the surreal landscape of Goblin Valley—plus detoured 65 miles (and 1.5 hours) for a quick peek at Utah’s Lake Powell. Totally worth it.

From alien-like rock formations in Devils Garden to riverside hikes and the best pizza in southern Utah, Escalante delivered adventure and exhaustion in equal measure. Sand, shade, and splash zones made this one unforgettable leg of the trip.

We kicked off our Utah road trip in Page, AZ, where our pups tested the waters—literally—on a scenic Lake Powell boat day. From rocky hikes to sandy beaches and surprise boat rental hurdles, this stop had it all (plus a developing dog friendship... maybe).
